How the job runs

Survey first, in person or over video for an outbound international move where you may already be travelling. Then a written, itemised quote naming the vehicle, crew, materials and, for an overseas move, the packing standard. Packing is done room by room against a numbered inventory you keep a copy of. Loading is sequenced, transit supervised, and at the destination — domestic — furniture is reassembled, cartons placed by room and the waste removed.

What decides the price

Volume and distance, then the difficulty of the building at both ends, then the packing standard. An international move costs more per cubic foot than a local one for a straightforward reason: the materials and the crating are heavier duty, and they have to survive a journey that a local move does not face. Timing an outbound move

Give yourself three to four weeks if you are leaving the country.
